Rebound, [early 19 cent.], in blind-tooled pigskin, on five raised bands with 'BRITISH POETRIE MS.' and 'PORKINGTON MANUSCRIPT No 7' in gilt on spine; inlaid into each cover is a blind-stamped panel, 150 x 115 mm., on a darker brown calf, from a late-eighteenth or early-nineteenth century blind-stamped binding with a foliage and flower design which includes a stamp and two rolls also found on the inlaid panels on MS I.1, probably tools belonging to the rebinder.
