Scope and Content

Mainly 20th Century furniture related trade catalogues as collected by John Bedford. Separated into series by: 1) A-Z company name 2) Selected makers 3) By furniture type 4) Photocopies of trade and auction catalogues (some originals already in the collection; others taken from elsewhere) 5) 1 x folder of sales catalogues featuring The Garrick and various others. 6) 1 x box of loose trade catalogues As listed. Loose trade catalogues may also be found amongst the ephemera materials.

Arrangement

Arranged into 3 series (as per original order): 1) By company name (A-Z) 2)4 seperate files of catalogues for Gillows, Hampsons Heals and Maples 3) Catalogues arranged by furniture type (multiple companies).Includes some un-catgorised catatlogues.

Other Finding Aids

Many of these have been given a unique reference code (usually starting with acronym "TC" = Trade Catalogue). It is possible that full list of contents exists somewhere within the Collectors own handwritten notes/indexes.
