Administrative / Biographical History

In 1761 Robert Llwyd of Nefyn, one of the Lloyd family of Tynewydd, Llannor, Caernarfonshire, married Ellen Hughes. Their eldest son Richard Lloyd (1762-1814) of Bodfel inherited the Tynewydd estate in 1814. He married Catherine (d. 1838) and had three children, Ellen Lloyd (b. 1807), Lowry Lloyd (1810-1849) and Richard Lloyd (1812-1840). Richard inherited the Tynewydd estate from his father, and married Ellen Williams ([c.1818]-1857) of Caernarfon.
