Scope and Content
Arrangement
The collection has been divided into three series based on geographical subject of the records. The series relate to work carried out at Algeria, Libya and Morocco. Within these series, records have been arranged by format (eg. document-based records and photographs).
As the collection was deposited by both Johns and Smith, it is difficult to identify the creator of individual items, for this reason, documents and photographs have not been arranged by creator. It is highly likely that the vast majority of the material within the collection was created by Smith but the collection has been kept independent of the David J. Smith Papers due to this uncertainty.
