Scope and Content

Consists of:

- photocopy of letters to Cardinal Basil Hume and the Bishops of England and Wales dated 16 Apr 1993 and 12 Dec 1993 on Anglican priests becoming Roman Catholic, with copies of open letter to the [Catholic] Bishops' conference of England and Wales, and pastoral message from the Archbishops and Bishops of England and Wales to the Catholic priests and people of their dioceses

- letter to Cardinal Basil Hume dated 2 Jan 1997 concerning statement signed by Pope John Paul II and Archbishop George Carey which singled out ordination of women as priests as a major impediment to the unity of the two Churches following their conservations in Dec 1996

- letters to Cardinal Basil Hume dated 13 May and 6 Jun 1997 concerning progress in the women's movement and concerning the Permanate Diaconate for Women in the RC Church (Stuttgart, Germany)
