Personal and family papers

This is a composite class containing the few papers in the archive (aside from the appointment diaries in NCN14 and the family snapshots in NCN16), which could truly be called 'personal' papers. They relate to Nicholson's childhood in Millom, his family and his wife Yvonne, and include: birth marriage and death certificates; a childhood autograph book; school reports and certificates; and appointment cards. A number of the items provide tangible evidence of familiar incidents recounted in Nicholson's autobiography Wednesday Early Closing.
