Administrative / Biographical History

Trowbridge Savings Bank opened in 1817. In 1926 the bank amalgamated with Somerset and Wiltshire Savings Bank.

The first known address for the branch was recorded in 1934 as Church Street, Trowbridge. In 1946 the branch moved to new premises at 19 Silver Street.

In 1975 the branch became part of South West TSB. Between 1984 and 1985 the branch moved to premises at Units 1 and 2 The Shires.
