Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, rebound in 1 vol. western style. ff. 4 (preface 序), 24. 26.1 x 18.7 cm. Fukurotoji. Movable type. Printing frame 23 x 17.4 cm. Double-line borders all round. Hashiragaki: Kōkyō 孝經 + folio no. In a modern western style half-leather binding. Edition: An undated movable type edition, differing from the three undated Keichō editions cited in Kokatsujiban no kenkyū, p. 376. These three variants, printed from the same font of type as an earlier edition dated Keichō 7 (1602), all have 8 lines to the page and 15 characters to the line, whereas this copy has 18 characters to the line. This may therefore be the only surviving copy of a hitherto unrecorded variant edition. Contents: The 'old script' text of Xiaojing 孝經, the Classic of Filial Duty. A short work in 22 chapters containing a dialogue between Confucius and his disciple Zengzi 曾子 on the Confucian principle of reverence due from children to parents and subjects to rulers.
