    • 8 volumes Condition: Very good. Minimal worm damage, confined to covers. Impression: Sharp and clear, near-shozuri. Seals of ownership: Red oblong seal of Sir Ernest Satow, 英國薩道藏書, and smaller red seal, Kōbi shooku kazoō 敲美書屋家藏, on first page of each satsu.

Scope and Content

Variant title: Daizōkyō shiyōroku 大藏經指要錄 [大蔵経指要録]. Author/compiler: Wei Bai 惟白, Chinese monk, 11th-12th century. Imprint: [Kyōto] , Nakano Ichiemon, Manji 2, 1659. Mokki in double-line frame on unnumbered folio following fol. 53 of maki 8 reads: 萬治二已 (ママ) 亥年仲冬吉日 ／ 中野氏市右衛門開板. Description: 8 kan, 8 satsu, in a slip-case. Maki 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are subdivided into jō 上 and ge 下, within the same satsu. (1) ff. 3 (preface), [1] , 53; (2) ff. [1] , 57; (3) ff. 2, 47; (4) ff. 5, 30, 4, 7; (5) ff. 4, 26, 3, 31; (6) ff. 5, 33, 3, 32; (7) ff. 2, 35, 1, 29; (8) ff. 3, 53, [1] . 27.5 x 18.5 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 21.5 x 15.8 cm. Single-line borders with fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text with printed okurigana (katakana) and kaeriten. 14 lines to page (small characters), 20 characters to line. Original dark blue covers on all satsu, with original printed title slips. Naidai and gedai identical. Hashiragaki: Shiyōroku 指要錄 + maki no. + folio no. Edition: Second Edo-period edition, the first being published in the preceding year, Manji 1, 1658. Contents: A digest of Mahayana and Hinayana sutras and Buddhist biographics in the Tripitaka, with brief expositions, compiled in 1104.
