Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 89 x 64 mm. (average). Single-line borders, with horizontal and vertical rules dividing up each page. Single fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text, with printed okurigana and kaeriten. 10 lines to page, variable no. of characters to line. Original light blue covers, with original printed title slip and additional square slip with printed date and details of contents. Gedai: 倭漢年表錄. Title from gedai and tobira, Naidai: Wakan kōtō hennen gōunzu 倭漢皇統編年合運圖. Hashiragaki: Hennenshi 編年史 + folio no. Edition: The earliest edition of this work. Followed by three other editions in Genroku 10 (1697), Kanpō 2 (1742) and Meiwa 8 (1771). Contents: Comparative chronological table of Japan and China from mythical times up to Genroku 2 (1689), indicating nengō (年号, year periods), cyclical dates, events in Japan in the upper part of each page, and events in China in the lower. (There are brief entries for the years Genroku 1-2 (1688-89), even though the book was published in Jōkyō 4 (1687).).

- 1 volume Condition: Good, except for a few stains and minimal worm damage at inner (binding) edge. Impression: Shozuri or near. Seals of ownership: Octagonal British Museum stamp, MVSEVM BRITANNICVM, on tobira and on last page of book. Manuscript notes: Dates in the western calendar have been added in red and black ink by Kaempfer in the upper margins. A few further notes sporadically in Kaempfer's hand. Note in black ink on mikaeshi reads: Chronologie Imperatorum Japonensium. / Examined by Chetqua / Decr. 17, 1770. / Pr: Or: 145. / Cost in Japan 1 oz. silver.
