Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 20.8 x 16.3 cm. (average). Double-line borders all round. 'Flower petal' fishtail design on hanshin. Kanbun text, with printed okurigana and kaeriten. 10 lines to page (double for commentary), 22 characters to line. Dark blue front cover of satsu 1 only, embossed with a chequered design. Blockprinted title slip, probably original, bearing gedai: Kanboku zensho jo mokuroku 翰墨全書 序 目錄. Title from naidai at head of each maki. Hashiragaki: Kanboku 翰墨 (in some maki Kanbokusho 翰墨書) + maki no. + folio no. Edition: The only Edo-period edition traceable. Contents: Extracts from Chinese literary works, arranged under 15 broad subject headings, compiled as an aid to elegant letter writing.
