    • 1 volume Condition: Fair to good. Book rebacked. No worm damage. Cropped at head. Impression: Atozuri from badly worn blocks. Illustrations: Five small sumizuri vignettes, 5 x 2.4 cm., at head of each page, illustrating the text below. Frontispiece in Moronobu style on ff. 1b-2a. Attribution to Moronobu on modern title slip of chitsu case may be discounted. Seals of ownership: None.

Scope and Content

Author/compiler: Unknown. Imprint: Edo, Urokogataya Magobē, Jōkyō 4, 1687. Kanki on fol. 15b reads: 貞享四年 / 卯ノ正月吉日 / 板元 江戸鱗形屋孫兵衞. Publisher's name has clearly been added to the 1687 block at a later date. Earliest recorded work published by Urokogataya Magobē is in Kyōhō period (1716-36). Description: 1 kan, 1 satsu, ff. [1, preface] , 15. 18.5 x 13.4 cm. Fukurotoji. Blockprint. Printing frame 17 x 12.5 cm. (approx.). Single-line borders. Text and illustrations spaced by vertical and horizontal rules. No fishtail design on hanshin. Hiragana-majiri text with printed furigana. Lines of variable length and width. Dark blue covers, old but not original. No title slip or gedai. Title from naidai. Hashiragaki: Fuku ふく + folio no. In a chitsu case. Edition: This edition of Jōkyō 4 (1687) is the only one recorded. Contents: A popular work on fortune-telling and omens of good fortune.
