India, Ceylon [i.e. Sri Lanka] and Singapore

An album of albumen prints probably taken in the 1880s by varied photographers including Bourne and Shepherd, W L H Skeen and Co. and G.R. Lambert & Co. Numbers 1-39 are of India; 40-51 of Ceylon; and 52-59 of Singapore. Numbers at the end of individual photograph entries refer to the photographers' catalogue numbers.

This volume forms part of a group of albums containing images from many parts of the world. The others in the group can be found at Y302B, Y30377A, Y3039A, Y305D and Y307A. They appear to be the collection of a widely travelled individual, but nothing definite is known about their origin.
