The flying demonstrations of the Wright A in France resulted in a number of enquiries for replicas of the Wright aircraft. On Griffith Brewer's recommendation, the firm of Short Brothers was approached in January 1909 to construct the first six aircraft orders on behalf of the Wrights. In this notebook, Horace Short made detailed sketches of the Wright A from which the first official working drawings were made.
