Typed notes by W.R. Brock, regarding a letter to Melville Wortham Briney, 1888. Letter is held by Filson Club. Brock only has the following to say about the letter.
A single letter from Mrs. Briney's young son, John, who has recently arrived in Scotland, probably to visit relatives. John comments on the cold ('I have worn my camels' hair underwear and overcoat ever since I landed') and on the strict observance of the Sabbath.
