Scope and Content

This collection is comprised of records of the College's activities in relation to its international activities, including records of relationships with other Paediatric Societies, Conferences, visits abroad, and initiatives to improve child health overseas.

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1931, the President of the British Paediatric Association, Dr Bernard Scheslinger, attended the 'Save the Children Union Meeting' at the Hague.Since then, the British Paediatric Association has consistently been represented internationally, and sought to establish relationships with other paediatric societies. Over the course of it's history, it's members have attended international conferences and undertake projects to improve child health overseas, notably in developing countries.

The College continues to play a role in international child health, and as of 2011, the College has had a dedicated international team to initiate projects overseas.
