Karl Wahle writes a letter to Brodsky in which he asks for food and clothes. As a result of being chilled when working in unheated rooms during the war Karl has been ill for 2.5 years and can only move with the aid of crutches. He is 63 years old, was born in Vienna, responsible until his illness and employed as a factory official. They are living in terrible conditions. The winter is dreadful and claiming lives.
