Bound volume. Handwritten accounts with some papers loose and stapled inside the volume. Includes accounts for individual bondholders, housing, drainage and sewerage schemes.

Administrative / Biographical History

Braddan Parish Commissioners were established in 1894 by provision laid down under the Local Government Amendment Act. The activities and functions of the local authority, included (but were not limited to):
- housing;
- rates;
- refuse collection;
- street lighting;
- parks, playgrounds and other leisure facilities;
- property searches;
- environmental health;
- planning applications;
- public information and advice;
- byelaw enforcement; and
- abandoned vehicles.

The records comprising this series were fully transferred to the IOMPRO under section 3(4) of the Public Records Act 1999 on 13 Sep 2017 on the authority of the Clerk to Braddan Parish Commissioners. Prior to transfer to the Public Record Office they were held at the Braddan Commissioners Office, Close Corran, Braddan, IM4 4LZ.
