Scope and Content

Four printed certificates awarded to Annie Fraser Gilchrist (nee Forbes) for undertaking twelve months of training in midwifery at Lanark County Maternity Hospital (21 July 1933), passing the examination of the Central Midwives Board for Scotland (26 July 1936 and 25 November 1953), attending refresher courses organised by the Royal College of Midwives (23 August 1958 and 27 July 1963) and completing training in the administration of obstetric analgesia at the South London Hospital for Women (27 October 1958).

Administrative / Biographical History

Annie Fraser Gilchrist, nee Forbes (fl. 1920-1986) was a midwife who passed the examination of the Central Midwives Board in 1933. She went on to work for the South London Hospital for Women. She died in 1986.
