Ms case book of pupil midwife Broardley, whilst training at Epsom District Hospital, Surrey (22 July 1949-30 April 1950), recording the case number, age, husband's occupation, religion and pregnancy history of each patient, alongside their home conditions in the case of district confinements and the results of any examinations carried out during the antenatal period, such as pelvic measurements and position of the foetus, as well as reports on the progress of each stage of their subsequent labour and purperium, including charts and graphs on the weight of the infant and the condition of the mother in the days following the delivery, also detailing if there were any complications before or after labour, whether any drugs were administered during the delivery, the method of feeding the child and the nature of postnatal care provided, with an index of cases at the back of the volume.
