Ms notes of cases attended by Lilian Parr, pupil midwife at the Queen's Charlotte Hospital, London (21 October 1921-4 January 1922), recording the name, address, age, religion, occupation and pregnancy history of each patient, the date of admission to and discharge from hospital, the date of delivery, temperature and pelvic measurements, the position and presentation of the child, if there were any complications during or after labour, such as forceps delivery, haemorrhage, laceration or abnormalities of the placenta and membranes, the sex of the child, whether the child was born living or dead, the weight of the child, the circumference of the head of the infant, the method of feeding the child and the names of all who examined the patient, also including detailed reports on the condition of the mother and child in the days that followed the birth, as well as any further treatment that was administered, together with a list of lectures that she attended during her training at the back of the volume. The volume also contains printed rules to be observed in the Lying-In Wards of the Hospital and instructions on how to take a patient's temperature.
