Scope and Content

Printed pamphlet, entitled ‘The Midwives Institute: Past and Present’, written by an unknown author and published by the Women’s Printing Society in 1911, providing a short history of the Midwives Institute (later known as the Royal College of Midwives), with particular reference to founding members and the organisations involvement in the passing of the Midwives Act of 1902, also including lists of honorary officers, vice-presidents and members of the Council, as well as a photograph of the club room at the headquarters.
