Administrative / Biographical History
Dr Cicely D. Williams (1893-1992) was pioneer in child health who was born in Kew Park, Jamaica. The following are among her achievements: Colonial Medical Service (1929-1948), Adviser on Maternal and Child Health World Health Organisation Geneva (1948- 1951), Senior Lecturer in Nutrition London University (1953-1955), Visiting Professor of Maternal and Child Health American University of Beirut (1959-1964) and Adviser Family Planning Association (1964-1967). She died in Oxford on 13 July 1992.
