Three autograph letters from Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington, to William Holmes, Tory whip (1779-1851), concerning reports in the MORNING POST newspaper about Wellington's health, 8, 14, 23 Dec 1838; lithographed manuscript invitation from the Duke of Wellington, with blanks filled in by him, to William Holmes to visit on Tuesday 1 February, n.y. [1842], to meet the King of Prussia, the Duke of Sussex, Princess Augusta and Prince George of Cambridge; copy of a letter from the Duke of Wellington [to Revd Mr Foster `his relation'], made for private circulation, c.Nov 1832.

272/2 Autograph letter from Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington, to Charles Abbott, later first Baron Tenterden, Lord Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench.

The letter invites Charles Abbott to dinner on the following Sunday [18 February], 1827

272/3 INDEXES TO HANSARD'S PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES FROM 1830 TO 1842

The volume has a handwritten dedication inside the front cover: `Presented to the Librarian of the House of Lords for the service of His Grace the Duke of Wellington by his respectful servant, R. Hansard'.

272/4 Autograph letters from Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington.

The letters are to Lady Louisa Murray, 26 May 1832, 7 June 1837, 9 June 1837, the last two on support for charities; Sir George Murray, 3 February 1836, about Captain Campbell; J. Ward, 29 July 1843; Captain Boyce and Mrs Boyce, about his attendance at the funeral of Sir George Murray and about promotion, 1 August 1846, 21 July 1847 and 23 July 1847.
