Administrative / Biographical History

The Amalgamated National Union of Quarryworkers and Settmakers was formed in 1914 by the merger of the National Union of Quarrymen (formed in 1887) and the Settmakers' Union of Great Britain and Ireland (formed in 1886). It amalgamated with the Transport and General Workers' Union in 1934.
