Scope and Content

Shorthampton is located 20 miles north-west of Oxford. The parish is a chapelry of Charlbury, for other records please see Mss.d.d.Par.Charlbury.

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Rev TJ Wood, vicar of Charlbury in 1962. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Further records were deposited as Acc 3546 in December 1992, as part of Acc 6078 in May 2012 and as part of Acc 6871 in May 2021.

A conspectus of new and old references is included at the end of this catalogue. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in August 2008 with additions in June 2014 and September 2022.
