Custodial History

McNicol's papers were in the possession of Ludovick Cameron, 1870-1872. In 1872 they were placed in the custody of a Mr Nicholson, advocate in Edinburgh, and were subsequently acquired by George Henderson. Part of McNicol's original calletion passed to James S Elliot, husband of McNicol's great-great-granddaughter, who deposited this in the National Library of Scotland (NLS Acc.2152)
