Scope and Content

Papers relating to legal proceedings and related legislation and issues, including the review concerning the deaths of young recruits at Deepcut Barracks, cases arising from 'the Troubles' in Northern Ireland, immigration and asylum cases, and Islamist terrorism.

'Accumulation' dates in the catalogue are taken from what appears to be the latest date in an assembly of documents, some of which may be earlier.

Administrative / Biographical History

Nicholas Blake became a barrister in 1974 and a Queen's Counsel in 1994. In May 2000 he was a founder member of the Matrix Chambers law practice and in 2002 he became a Deputy High Court Judge.

He specialised in public law, criminal justice, human rights, immigration and asylum and private international law.

In 2007 he was appointed a High Court Judge of the Queen's Bench Division and assigned to the Administrative Court.
