Jennison qualified in medicine from London University in 1943, gaining his MD in 1949. He served as assistant pathologist to the Emergency Medical Service in Colchester during the second world war before being appointed lecturer in clinical pathology to Kings College Hospital. Jennison came to Manchester in 1952 as consultant clinical pathologist to United Manchester Hospitals and honorary lecturer at the University. Jennison was a founder fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. He was also a member of the Association of Clinical Pathologists, the Pathological Society and the Manchester Paediatric Club. Jennison specialised in pathology of pregnancy and infants.
