Administrative / Biographical History

Four expeditions were undertaken from 1951 onwards to survey South Georgia (Subsequent trips in 1953-1954, 1955-1956 and 1956-1957 completed the work). Whaling fleets provided the transport needs of Carse. The results were published in 1958.
