LETTER from Josef to Betty Thomas, Bryn Bela, Caeathro thanking her for her letter and saying that he is going to send the doll for little Joan Evans and in the parcel she will find something else for her in rememberance for that time they spent together at Caeathro. He is very sorry because it is not much but he hopes that she will take it as a souvenir from him. He thanks her for the photo and says that his holidays are now soon to end and he ought to go his old job again. But if she intends some day to come to Cologne he shall take holidays again with her immediately as he is always at home for her, she has made the time ease by in North Wales and he shall never forget it. He has not received a letter from Miss Lort until now and he sends his best greetings to John Yorkey and says that he is sorry that he could not carry potatoes now for him. He hopes to hear from her again soon or to see her here in Germany.XM2606/33

LETTER from Josef Lingen to Betty Thomas, Bryn Bela, Caeathro saying that he has not heard from her for some time and he is obliged to ask her if she is cross with him but he does not know why. He is still well and in good health and hopes that she is the same. He has received a letter from Miss Lort last week and she told him that Betty's father has died. Miss Lort also kindly sent him rubber for his bicycle and he is very thankful for that as he can now ride his bicycle every day. He has been in his old job since February and he likes it very much. Fritz has returned to the army and has now been made Major. Rudolf and Gustave were willing to come back to Miss Lort again but he prefers to stay at home. He hopes that she will write again to tell him how she is getting on.XM2606/34
