Davies took his medical degree from Victoria University in 1898 after studying at Owens College Manchester. He became house physical at the Brompton Hospital and thereafter was a house surgeon at MRI. He later joined the North Staffordshire Infirmary and Eye Hospital. He accompanied Professor Thomas Jones as a member of the Welsh Military Hospital at Springfontein, South Africa in 1900. Davies worked here as an assistant surgeon but contracted dysentery, and died on 15 June 1900. He is commemorated along with Thomas Jones on a plaque in the old University Medical School.
