Administrative / Biographical History

Arthur James Siggins was born in Wellington, New Zealand, the son of an importer. He left home as a stowaway at the age of thirteen, and later served in South Africa during the Boer War. He travelled widely in Africa and served in the Rhodesian Police. His experiences as a hunter, and assisting with the wildlife which appeared in the film 'The Four Feathers', were reflected in 'Shooting With Rifle and Camera' (1931).
