Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
There are no available biographical details for Robert Broadley, however, judging by his account book it could be assumed that he lived in the East Riding of Yorkshire, was possibly of independent means and had an interest in gambling and hunting. It is possible that he is the 'Robert Broadley' mentioned in William Wilberforce's journal entry dated 10 August 1794 and that he was a friend of Alderman Benjamin Blaydes Thompson, who was twice a Mayor of Hull.
