8 account books. One belonging to John Jones, cobbler of Chwilog, Caernarfonshire dating from 1891-1904 and 7 belonging to Owen Lazarus, blacksmith of Efail Newydd, Llanbedr-goch, Anglesey, 1877-1935. They contain details of customers, their personal names and place names together with information on work carried out. The cobbler's accounts are in English whilst the blacksmith's accounts are in Welsh. Evidently, the blacksmith was well respected, since he worked for the Meyricks of the Bodorgan estate and for Lord Boston. Also, inserted into one of the account books of Owen Lazarus is a letter from Lady Magdalene Bulkeley stating : I am very glad indeed that I was able to arrange that you should present yr present to H R H the Prince of Wales and that you are so pleased with his acceptance of it.
