Scope and Content

North Hinksey is situated 3 miles east of Oxford. It was part of the chapelry of Cumnor until 1726 and has been in the Oxford archdeaconry since 1915

The records were originally deposited in the Bodleian Library by Rev JW Carter vicar of North Hinksey in 1976. The material was then transferred to the Oxfordshire Record Office. Further records were deposited as Acc 2447 in 1985 and Acc 6169 in 2013.

A conspectus of new and old references is included at the end of this catalogue. Catalogued by Alison Smith, September 2009 with additions by Hannah Jones, May 2013.
