Literary papers

The series comprises manuscript and typescript copies, proofs, and related papers, [1935x2000] (with gaps), pertaining to works by Roland Mathias, namely poetry, prose works, works edited by him, and other books and periodicals to which he contributed. Also included are copies of a script for a television programme about T. Harri Jones, [1972-1973], together with talks and lectures by Roland Mathias, [1943]-1982 (with gaps).

Arranged in twenty-eight files according to type of work: poetry, prose works, works edited by Roland Mathias, and others to which he contributed, reviews, a television script, and talks and lectures. Files within each section are arranged according to publication date, and the contents of each file are arranged as type of material and, where applicable, chronologically.

Letters pertaining to the literary works of Roland Mathias are dispersed amongst the general series of correspondence, 1. Drafts of the poem 'Freshwater West revisited', [c. 1970], are in NLW MS 20782E. In addition, manuscript and typescript copies of the poems 'Alpha and omega' and 'Riddle' are held at Cardiff Central Library.
