Scope and Content

Printed and typescript material, 1940-90, relating to Iceland (mainly in Icelandic and English) including press cuttings, pamphlets, bibliographies and booklists and a few odd numbers of Icelandic periodicals and newspapers; background material relating to the post-war disputes concerning fishing rights and extension of territorial waters including leaflets issued by the office of the Prime Minister of Iceland. There are also some pages extracted from The Penny Magazine for 16 and 23 November, 1833, containing articles on 'The Icelanders'.
