These albums were begun by George
William Reeves, and continued by Sybil
Reeves. They contain newspaper cuttings,
mostly from local papers. The source
and date of each cutting is given.
The cuttings mostly concern events with
which George Reeves was involved. These
include reports on rowing (including the
Henley Regattas; he was Captain of
Henley Rowing Club), athletics,
societies such as the Henley
Horticultural Society and the Ancient
Order of Druids, and reports of Town
Council meetings. There are also
accounts of local festivities in
response to coronations and jubilees,
and of the opening of Henley's new Town
Hall, as well as some obituaries of
local people. Reeves also put in
cuttings about his marriage, and some
programmes for the Henley regatta and
other sporting events.
