Custodial History
The original provenance of this document is unknown. It was found by a former colleague of the depositor in a trunk of similar documents in the late 1940s or early 1950s, which they had found in a skip near the communal York rubbish dump. The depositor agreed to take this document shortly after the trunk had been found, but the rest of the contents are believed to be lost. The depositor sought conservation advice from the Borthwick Institute for Historical Research in 1969, and has kept the document in his possession ever since.
