LETTER from R W Peachey, Command Public Relations Officer to Antony Craxton, TV Outside Broadcasts, BBC enlosing a diagram showing layout of camera positions at Ferodo. He is very sorry that his plans for building the towers and stands has had to be abandoned as it is beyond their financial resources. He requests that they let him know what their power requirements are likely to be and their proposed timetable for moving equipment into the area. LETTER from H I Evans, Lt Col, HQ Western Command, Chester to G H Briscoe, Manager, Ferodo, Caernarfon regarding arrangements for civilian spectators at Ferodo. It has been agreed that Ferodo employees and their families (total 500) and schoolchildren and youth organisation (total 500) in addition to old comrades and junior servicemen. All spectators are to be in their respective enclosures by 1230 hours and remain there until approximately 5.15pmXM13072/6

LETTER from H I Evans, Lt Col, HQ Western Command, Chester to G H Briscoe, Manager, Ferodo, Caernarfon stating that they have now heard from W R Waugh, section assistant Bangor who says that clearance of the site commenced mid May and work on the platform will start on the 2nd of June 1969.XM13072/7

LETTER from HQ Western Command, Chester regarding arrangements for services spectators and old comrades at Ferodo. Arrangements have now been made to reserve areas at Ferodo for old comrades and junior servicemen to watch the ceremony. The bids submitted total approximately 800 and chairs will be provided for old comrades only. A parking area for spectators vehicles will be available opposite the entrance to Ferodo. The main road will be closed therefore it will be necessary to obtain a vehicle pass from Gwynedd ConstabularyXM13072/8

LETTER from R W Peachy, Command Public Relations Officer, Headquarters Wester Command, Chester to news editors and picture editors regarding press arrangements at Ferodo Ltd. He states that there are various unavoidable restrictions on the use of cars and by movement of press representatives and that as it is impossible to provide telephones at Ferodo prior arrangements need to be made. Since the road from Ferodo to Caernarfon will be closed and Caernarfon itself will be almost inaccessible they are advised to reserve telephones at Bangor or anywhere that does not fall within police restrictions or road movement into Caernarfon. LETTER from R J Ebdon, Lieutenant, R Signals for Detachment Commander, Llandwrog Camp regarding exchange operators ordersXM13072/11

LETTER from Lord Chamberlain's Office, Caernarfon Castle to Mr Briscoe confirming the arrangements made yesterday afternoon. Lieutenant -Colonel John Johnston and Captain Carron Greig will arrive between 9:30am and 10:00am in plain clothes in a Ford vehicle carrying a green crown. This caer will drop them at the security box and go on to Caernarfon with other passengers. At 10:30 the vehicle will return empty from Caernarfon and will park at the Ferodo factory. It will be accompanied by another green crown car carrying Mr Bishop, some luggage and empty regalia boxes to be deposited in the rrom provided by Mr Briscoe. Mr Bishop and his car will then leave. The parked vehicle will leave at about 11a.m with Colonel Johnston and Captain Greig. At about 12.15p.m lieutenant commander John Holdsworth with arrive in a police car and will be directed to the reception area. At about 12.30pm Colonel Johnston and Captain Greig will return in uniform in a car carrying a green crown which will set down and remain. This car will leave with Colonel Johnston at the rear of the Queen's procession. From a little before 12.50 pm the following will arrive a be directed to the reception area, where they will be received by Mr Clifford and Commander Holsworth: Lord Lieutenant of Caernarfonshire, High Sheriff of Caernarfonshire, The Secretary of State for Wales, The Master of the Horse and the the Gold Stick in Waiting. It is understood that the military authorities are arranging some refreshment for those VIP's and a waiting room will be available. At about 1:40 the VIPs cars will be marshalled and they will leave the factory area under the direction of Col Johnston to set down at the platform by 1:45pm; their cars to be parked back at the factory under military arrangements. As soon as the Royal Processions have left Capt Greig and Commander Holdsworth will with the aid of the police move the boxes and luggage by way of the platform of the Royal Train. They are then to stay at Ferodo to undertake their duties as gentlemen ushers to the Queen on the platform until all the royal family have gone and the cars of the VIPs have been brought forward for them to departXM13072/12
