Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Mrs B. Marjorie Reed began teaching before the Second World War and spent the war years as a Billeting Office. She was also an observer in the Juvenile Courts, a member of the National Union of Teachers Reorganisation Committee and a Committee Member of the Headteachers' Association. The volume contains a record of teaching methods over her thirty five year career educating five to eighteen year olds from both deprived and more priveleged backgrounds. Mrs Reed was the first married woman to be appointed as a Headteacher in Hull. Following the death of her husband it is believed that Mrs Reed later remarried and became Mrs Hibbert.
