Kim Lewis Collection

Large collection of artwork and pre-publication material for 11 picture books by Kim Lewis. Material includes dummy books, sketches and layouts, finished artwork, draft texts, proofs and correspondence. The collection fully demonstrates the creative process involved in creating a picture book.

Created by Kim Lewis during the course of her career as an illustrator.

The titles in this collection have been sorted into chronological order by publication date. In many cases the draft material for the books (such as draft texts and layouts) was in no order, and so an order has been imposed by the archivist, and has been largely sorted by format. The collection has been arranged as follows:

Collection has been appraised and weeded for duplicate material.

Finished artwork for 'Willa and Old Miss Annie' was purchased from the creator by Seven Stories in November 2006. The remainder of the collection was donated to Seven Stories by the creator in August 2008.
