Scope and Content

This volume contains the following two texts :. ff 2v-28v : Divan-i Muhibbi, a poetical compilation under the pseudonym of Sultan Süleyman I (died 974 AH/1566 CE). This copy is imperfect at the beginning and the end and begins in the middle of a gazel;. ff 29r-85r : Divan-i Hüdai, the poetical compilation of Hüdai (died 1038 AH/1628-29 CE). This copy is also imperfect at both the beginning and the end of the text, and the gazels are not in alphabetical order. Some of the folios have been displaced during the binding process (41r, for example, should follow 38v). Folio 30 does not belong to the Divan-i Hüdai and is a fragment of an anthology containing poems by Eşrefoğlu and Kaygusuz, fully vocalized and probably copied in the 16th century. Both parts of the text were likely copied in the 18th century, with the first text in Divani kırması, the second in Nastaliq, and f 29 copied in a different nesih hand with full vocalization.
