Scope and Content

This volume contains the poems of Süleyman Talib of Trabzon, a poet who sometimes used the mahlas of Ata, according to Fatin (p. 251), who also states that he was born in 1229 AH (1813-14 CE). The Divan consists mostly of gazeller (ff 1v-54v), many of them being nazireler on the gazeller of Ayni, Avni, Hakim Trabzoni, Galip Dede, Sami Paşa, Suphi Bey, Füzuli, Ruhi, Reşit Paşa, Defterdar, and Esrar Dede. There are also müşterek poems in which verses by Talib alternate with those of Behçet Efendi, İsmet and Avni. From f 54r onwards are müfredat. The text contains a plain gold unvan. The manuscript was copied by Seyit Abdülhamiti Yavaşharzade in 1276 AH (1859-60 CE).
