Scope and Content

This volume is a collection of works, primarily by İsmail Ankaravi (died 1041AH/1632 CE). The contents are as follows:. I (ff 3v-42r) : Kitabu's-sema or Risale fi hakk-i sema-yi Mevlevi, a work on the ecstasy in music and dance experienced by the Mevlevi Dervişler;. II (ff 43v-80r) : Şerh-i Kaside-yi Hamriye of Ömer İbnu'l-Ferit, copied by the same hand as above;. III (ff 81v-165r) : Şerh-i Fatihe-yi şerif, a mystical commentary on the Fatiha;. IV (ff 166v-176r) : Risālati Miṣbāḥ al-asrār (رسالة مصباح الاسرار), a commentary in Arabic on the Ayat al-Nūr;. V (ff 178v-191r) : Two commentaries by Ayinezade Mehmet Şemseddin Siruzi on kasideler, the second being by Rüsuhi (i.e. İsmail Ankaravi);. VI (ff 193v-227r) : İzahu'l-hikem, a commentary on the Hayākil al-nūr (هياكل النور) of Suhrawardī. All of the texts were copied in the 17th century CE, with text III dated as 1046 AH (1636-37 CE).
