    • 8 texts 31 ff Material: European laid paper with elaborate crown watermark. Foliation: European, 31 folios, plus 2 blank. Dimensions: 181 x 122 mm; text area varies. Pricking and Ruling: Variable number of lines. No margins. Script: Rika script, same hand throughout. Watermarks: Elaborate crown watermark. Binding: Original maroon and black morocco, with gilt stamped central medallions and blind-tooled borders, rebacked in BL.

Scope and Content

This volume contains a mecmua (miscellany) with a diverse range of texts and fragments of information:. (1) f 1r-5r: Notes and diagrams, chiefly concerned with Arabic and Persian grammar. (2) f 6v-7r: Verses by various Ottoman poets. (3) f 8r-10r: Examples of formal letters and memoranda. (4) f 11v: A single beyit of verse. (5) f 12r-12v, 15v-20r: Verse by Nabi, Yunus Emre, Nadiri, and others; including some in Arabic on f 16v. (6) f 20v-30r: Selected verse of Beliğ. (7) f 30v-33v: A muamma (riddle) of Nesimi, and other miscellaneous verses. (8) Endpapers (front and back): Miscellaneous. The mecmua does not include a colophon, however it is probably from the middle to late twelfth century AH/eighteenth century CE.
