Scope and Content

This volume contains a commentary on the Tuhfe-i Şahidi, a well-known Persian-Ottoman Turkish versified dictionary by İbrahim Şahidi, ascribed on the first folio to Akovalı Hatem Efendi (died 1168 AH/1754-55 CE). Given the differences between the opening of this work and those found in other collections, the current volume is likely an abbreviated version. This manuscript was likely copied in the 19th century CE.
