Scope and Content

This volume contains a mystical work by Zati Süleyman Efendi el-Keşani (1095-1151 AH/1684-1738 CE). Süleyman el-Keşani was born in Gelibolu, and then spent a considerable amount of time in Bursa, where he pursued his studies and acted as an assistant to İsmail Hakkı Bursevi. He later returned to Gelibolu on the orders of his Şeyh, before going to Keşan, where he opened a new tekke. It was in this city that he died. The text addresses a wide variety of theological topics, including the afterlife, fate, the Ahadith, birth and death, the reasons for the creation of humans and jinns, and prayer. This manuscript was copied by Hafız Mehmet Şerif el-Keşani in 1219 AH (1804-05 CE).
