Scope and Content

This volume contains the following three texts :. (I) ff 1v-117v : Gavriye, a mystical mesnevi composed by Nakşi Ali Akkermani (died 1065 AH/1655-56 CE). This 4029-beyit poem provides exegesis of a number of the ayetler in the Qur'an;. (II) ff 118v-226r : Aynü'l-hayat, another poem by Nakşi Ali Akkermani that has a didactic nature. In addition to various na't and exegesis of a number of different ayetler, the work also seeks to explore, from a theological and Sufi perspective, the meaning of life;. (III) ff 227v-326v : Divan-i Nabi, the compiled poetry of Nabi (died 1124 AH/1724-25 CE), bearing the date 1152 AH (1739-40 CE). This manuscript was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
